A month to celebrate pro bono service. Seminole County Legal Aid provides free civil legal services to our neighbors all year long. Each October we join the legal community in observing Pro Bono Month, recognizing the volunteer attorneys whose donated hours extend how many people we can reach, and hosting two special programs open to the community.
For Pro Bono Month, volunteer attorneys are donating their time to prepare Simple Last Wills and Testaments and Advance Directives for Seminole County first responders. There is no charge, and no application or intake appointment is needed, reserve a time and come in.
Choose October 16 or 23 and an open appointment time. You will receive a confirmation email right away.
Our staff will email you a link to a form about your Will and Advance Directive preferences. You will have 5 days to complete and return it.
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Your volunteer attorney will review your form and finalize your documents on site.
If the form is not returned within 5 days, your registration will be cancelled and the appointment will reopen to another first responder.
All attendees must provide a valid government-issued photo ID. We cannot prepare documents without it.
Free public parking is available near the courthouse. Follow the signs for public parking.
Upon entering the building, expect to follow courthouse security protocol. Place bags on the conveyor belt and follow instructions for the metal detector. Once you are through, ask the Sheriff’s deputy for Seminole County Legal Aid.
No outside food or drink is permitted. Lunch will be provided at the event.
The information you provide to our staff will be given to the attorney who assists you on the day of the event. Otherwise, all information provided will remain confidential.

Volunteer attorneys work alongside our staff throughout the year, taking cases and staffing clinics that we could not otherwise reach. Pro Bono Month is when we say so out loud.
