We participated with the Florida Department of Corrections, Circuit 18-3 Seminole Metro Office with their life skills/career readiness program. The purpose of the course was to teach individuals involved in the criminal justice system the skills needed to prepare for a vocation and improve their knowledge of other matters such as finances, legal and career readiness. Community partners donated their time to teach different segments of the course. Attorney Jeff Deen volunteered to inform the participants of legal safeguards. A local bank taught a session concerning budgeting and finances. Raju Daswani of Career Source prepared participants for job interviews. The graduation ceremony was held on June 28, 2017. The presider of the event was employment specialist, Denise Hall. The guest speaker was Circuit Administrator Rachel Richardson which provided an inspiring speech to the graduates. Certificate of appreciation were presented to all community partners. Executive Director, Silvia McLain, accepted the certificate on behalf of our program.
