The Reading Scholarship Accounts allows parents with children in Florida public school to access services for their children in grades three through five who are having trouble reading.
In order to be eligible for a Reading Scholarship Account your child must meet the following requirement:
• Enrolled in third or fourth grade in 2017-18
• Scored a 1 or 2 on the English Language Arts (ELA) test in the 2017-18 school year
• Currently enrolled in a public school in third, fourth or fifth grade for the 2018-19 school year
What is the amount of a Reading Scholarship Account?
For the 2018-2019 school year, the amount of the scholarship is $500 per eligible student.
How do I apply for a Reading Scholarship Account?
To apply for funding, a parent must submit an application – Scholarship Application
You must have your Child’s FLEID number, School code and School district code which are all found on your child’s ELA score report (see below). If you do not have this report, contact your child’s school to obtain a copy. Your application will not reviewed without this information.
